Acquisition Royale will utilize Polygon to achieve fast and “zero-gas” transactions for players.
Acquisition Royale – a play-to-earn battle royale NFT game themed around mergers and acquisitions – will be launching this week on the Polygon network.
The game is developed by prePO – an upcoming decentralized trading platform that lets users speculate on pre-IPO companies (such as SpaceX or Stripe) and pre-token projects (such as OpenSea or Zapper) through a gamified (‘GameFi’) experience.
A game of corporate domination
In Acquisition Royale, your goal is to ensure that your Enterprise (NFT) survives and thrives.
After founding (minting) your Enterprise, you’ll automatically earn Runway Points (RP) over time, which can be used to compete against and acquire other Enterprises, or protect your own Enterprise from acquisition.
By strategically merging with and acquiring other Enterprises, you’ll earn RP at an even faster rate, setting you on the path towards corporate domination.
Due to being a battle royale game, where Enterprises are eliminated and burnt as the game progresses, any surviving Enterprises will become increasingly rare over time. These surviving Enterprises, along with the RP they accumulate, can then be sold on secondary markets such as OpenSea and QuickSwap, facilitating a play-to-earn economy.
The need for a scaling solution
With the Ethereum mainnet suffering from high gas costs and slow transaction speeds that would make any game impractical, the prePO team needed to find an EVM-compatible scaling solution – and Polygon was the answer.

Customization and community
Unlike other NFT projects where your traits are fixed and assigned to you by luck of the draw, Enterprises within Acquisition Royale are customizable – allowing players to Rename and Rebrand (i.e. select different interpretive artwork) using limited-supply consumable Rename/Rebrand Tokens (ERC-1155) – and each Enterprise builds their own legacy through the gameplay actions they perform.
Acquisition Royale is also a community-led game, where Enterprise owners will help decide future roadmap items, gameplay balance adjustments, and which interpretative artworks are approved to represent their Enterprises. Builders and creatives in the community will even be incentivized to grow the game’s ecosystem through the Acquisition Royale Grants Program.
Acquisition Royale will be kicking off this week with The Founding – where users can claim free Enterprises or mint Enterprises through a fair falling price auction process.
